A FLINTA* theatre collective crafting tales of future utopias.
Radical, foolish MARGINAL FIGURES, hybrid creatures and MONSTERS, with a tendency towards CRAZINESS. Ever representations of a humouristically initiated CHANGE in our existing world order: the stigma of the fool, connoted negatively by Christianity, has inspired us to our name and our artistic goal.
We want to REWRITE, rethink and utopianise the term. According to Christianity, Eve was the first female fool - marginalised figure, outsider, unthinking - so we want to call ourselves FOOLS too. Tender Fools. Like the medieval fools, we will try to OVERTHROW the exploitative system around us.
How do we want to do that? With STORIES that will inspire our social environment to change. With utopias, tales and experiences of community and togetherness. It is time for new ways of thinking about how the global West can deal sensibly with people and resources. To do this, we need to start with our NARRATIVES. And in our dealings with others.
We want to achieve this in our collective way of working with the stories that we want to spread, especially throughout European countries. We want to connect with the places we work in, want to NETWORK with the people, support communities, hold workshops, visit festivals. We want to use out networks to go into utopian DIALOGUES with the people around us.
Our first project together "TANKEN" which we got to show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2023.
